Class of Love
Class of Love Maryann Jordan A classroom project of writing to a soldier in harms way brings so many emotions because it is something I can connect with from my teaching days. Ethan is a soldier who receives a package of letters from a 4th grade class and this is the start of an emotional connection for him that draws in the reader to the feelings it invokes in him. Maryann Jordan has created strong characters in Ethan and Brooke who make you feel the humor, angst, and love that flow throughout the story. Can they overcome events to find their way for a HEA? A great beginning to the Letters from Home series. Received an ARC and voluntarily reviewed it.

Awesome story
Brooke Thompson, a 4th grade teacher, has chosen to write to a soldier as a project for her class. Ethan Miller, a specialist who is an Army helicopter mechanic, receives the letters in Afghanistan. He starts writing to the pretty teacher and her class. The project starts with writing letters and sending gift packages but slowly evolves into so much more. The interaction with the students and the budding relationship between Ethan and Brooke are wonderfully done until the war intervenes. A wonderful story, the contrast of the children, the war and he relationship between Brooke and Ethan was well done. I'm really looking forward to the next installment Letters from Home.

Teacher Rescues The Soldier
Class of Love is the first novella in a series of three. The story starts out with a class project. Brooke, a fourth grade teacher, decides to incorporate all subject areas into a class project centered around being pen pals with a soldier. Ethan, a mechanic who specializes in repairing Apache helicopters, is the lucky soldier who receives the packet of letters. At first, Ethan didn't want to write notes to all the kids and teacher. Then he starts looking forward to receiving and answering all the kid's questions. He especially enjoys private letters to Brooke. With about three months left in his tour, Ethan and his friend are sent to maintain Apaches closer to the front lines. While there, Ethan is injured. Not wanting to burden Brooke with his recovery, he breaks off all communication with her. Ethan's buddy finds Brooke and let's her know what has happened. Brooke wants to be by Ethan's side, but isn't sure she'll be welcomed.....Will they get their HEA? I absolutely LOVED this story! I've never read anything like this and truly enjoyed it. It made me want to be pen pals with a soldier, just to give him the hope that Brooke and her students gave Ethan. He had no family to speak of and nobody sending him pictures or goodies. It's refreshing to see students engaged in learning! Loved it and can't wait to read the next one. I read a gifted copy and all opinions expressed are my own.
